Ile d'Oléron

A rich and unspoiled nature, beautiful beaches, a heritage first, the second largest island of France is both sporty and wild.

You will find a range of activities, apart from its sandy beaches, you will be able to visit the salt marshes, the ramparts of the castle of oléron, you walk in the innumerable pine forests maritime or make a boat cruise for to approach the imposing Fort Boyard. Do not forget the Little St Trojan Train, which will take you on 12 km round trip to the wilds of Pertuis de Maumusson. On foot, by bike or on horseback, all means are good to discover the island of Oleron from all angles.

 

With its 65 hectares, Madame is the smallest of the islands of the Charente coast.

For a day, stroll through the remains of ancient salt marshes, or take the pretty path that runs along the eastern side of the island from which you can admire, between two squares, Fouras and the Charente coast.

It is accessible only at low tide by a tombolo (natural passage of sand and pebbles) called the "Pass aux Bœufs" which is covered at high tide by the sea.

Ile-d'Aix

The Ile-d'Aix labeled "Village of Stone and Water" since 2011 will make you live an unforgettable adventure. Only way to get there: the ferry, leaving the Port of Smoke for twenty minutes of navigation and you land in the land of tranquility.

Dotted with hollyhocks, the island of Aix is ​​a kind of large garden. Here, the hubbub of cars does not exist. The island of Aix can be visited on foot, by bike or by horse-drawn carriage! If nature is dominant, history is also very present. With its fortified village and forts, Fort de la Rade and Fort Liédot, the island of Aix is ​​a real fortress.

Totally flat, with over 100 km of cycle paths, the Ile de Ré is perfect for cycling lovers. It is also an island rich in small typical ports: The Fleet, Saint-Martin, whose Vauban fortifications are classified in Unesco. Inescapable steps in this boarding for the dream that is the island of Ré.
